Buying a used tuner is pretty risky. They can only be used on one vehicle at a time. If the tuner program wasn't removed from the truck it was originally used on the tuner will be useless to you.
They do usually work pretty well if you don't mind using premium gas in your truck.
Most chips or tuners have a setting for regular gas too but it usually doesn't make much difference.
It's nice being able to adjust your shift points and being able to firm up the shifts. If you have bigger tires on your truck you can usually adjust the speedo with the tuner to compensate for that too.
I saw a similar add on ebay. It wasn't a tuner but a chip you installed somewhere under the hood right? I saw it and was curious myself. Also a 99 F-150 SC FS Sport
Could be the old 1100 superchip where you install directly into your PCM, I have one of those that I took out of my 95 f150 4.9l and had it reflashed to work with my 02 5.4l calibration, they do add a little umf but mostly in the tranny shift points, firms them up nicely.
BTW, these superchips require premium fuel at all times where as the tuners can be adjusted for reg fuel, IMO the tuners are a better product and from what I heard the Diablo's are the best.
I know what yer talking about now, I saw the ad on ebay and I wouldn't buy one one of those, complete junk. You are better off to save your money for a tuner made by a reputable company like hypertech or superchips.
