BP Sensor Replacement

I have been trying to replace this sensor for a while now. I humbly have to ask, how does this thing come off? Have tried soaking with penetrating oil with no luck. Is there a special way of doing this without tearing up and bending the mounting plate it sits on?

the ehxhaust backpressure sensor? it sits in front of the HPOP. i believe it takes a 1" socket down over the sensor, and then just use your ratchet to turn it off. it's hard to get a wrench in there, especially a 1" one. i screwed it on by hand and easily replaced it.... let me see if i can find some pictures of it.

that is what i am using. mine must be siezed. is it a counter clockwise un-screw? do i need to back it up by wrenching the nut under the sensor? just seems that twisting the mount isn't a good thing.

Lefty loosey just like most stuff on the truck, Back up youre one inch wrench with a
5/8" or 9/16" under the senser. Then it will not twist the mounting plate. Make sure you clean out the hole in the mounting plate where the sensor mounts ,and the tube that connects to the manifold. mine was completely plugged with carbon. It is important that it flows exhuast from the tube to the sensor. Note: behind that plate is oil so if you remove it, be prepared to have a sealent to re-seal it.

bottom line= Just make sure the Back pressure system is carbon free from the maniufold all the way up to youre new sensor. Or you will be defeating the whole point of putting on a new sensor!

If youre tube looks rusty as mine did I did a little test to see if it was leaking. I sprayed some brakeclean in the tube then plugged one end of itwith my finger as i blew compressed air in the other . the air made the brakecleen bubble and thats how i identified if the tube weas leaking. It was mostly at the bends. The hole are so tiny that they are not visible to the eye, but were formed by the rust.
