I've got an 85 and 86 Ford F150. They are both 302s with the EFI. Does anyone know if there is a shrader valve on an 85? I found it on the 86 but was wondering if it is somewhere else or nonexistent on the 85.
ok i know what a shrader valve is. we use them on Jets as i am a Jet mechanic in the Navy. its just that in 25 years of working on vehicles of which 4 were profesionally from the age of 17-21, this is the first time i have heard of anything on a automobile beiing refered to as a shrader valve.
Sharpster68, "shraeder" valves have been used for years on vehicle air-conditioning high and low pressure refrigeration ports, fuel rails on port injected engines as well as tires/tubes. Supprised you haven't seen them.

What's you rating? I don't know how it got the name "schrader" but it's the style of valve on a car tire that the air chuck fits on to. It's used in many other applications also.
I was AO3 in VS-22, CVW3, USS John F. Kennedy, 1984-1988. Keep up the good work and don't forget that many of us have been where you are, and we know how hard it can be. We all appreciate all of you.
I'm a AME1. i just never heard them called by that name is all. Also at the time i was fulltime auto mechanic most vehicles were carburated and i never really got into the A/C side of things and until i got this 85 F150 a few years ago i really had no experience with Fuel Injection.Ive almost always driven Pre 1980 old school carburated type vehicles, and after messing with this 85 f150 EFI, when i get the chance im selling it and getting a pre 1973 F100 to drive and restore easier cheaper and more performance options at a lower cost plus i just want a classic
