compression #'s !!!
hi new to the site and wanted to know if these compresion #'s are descent. Its on an 81 300 L6. #1 120psi #2 105psi #3 115psi #4 110psi #5 120psi #6 120psi . The truck runs really good but I thought the compression would be way higher. The truck is an 81 F150 4wd np435 208tc 300 l6.

More important than high pressure readings is that the readings among different cylinders be consistent. General consensus seems to be that under 10% differential is fine and you're engine is right about there. You didn't state your mileage but for a 25 year old truck your #'s are pretty good. If you're engine is not burning oil or making exceesive noise you've probably got yourself a keeper. If you start losing sleep over it, check it in 6 months and see if the pressures have dropped.

it has about 169,000 miles and still runs really strong. just wonderin about those #'s. im goin to start driving it everyday cuz my dodge diesel is getting expensive. the ford though gets around 16 miles to the gallon and at 3.29 gal for diesel, i really need to drive my gasser!!!
