302 Engine Oil Leaks
I have recently purchased this truck. The previous owner has installed headers, Edelbrock intake and Holley 450 carb. That's what is obvious, inside I have no clue! Problem is oil, mainly lower engine,passenger side very wet and it pools up in the water pump recesses! LOT's of oil! I have replaced the intake gasket and distributer o ring but it has not slowed down the leaking. Valve covers look dry.......... Any ideas out there?

Is your leak comming from the front edge of the intake manifold? Edelbrock advises useing a thick bead of RTV instead of the cork or rubber end gaskets. Were the heads shaved so that the intake manifold isn't fitting right? If the heads were shaved, the intake manifold head surfaces may need to be shaved to match. What about the timing cover inbetween the block and the waterpump?
