1995 aerostar awd
The A4LD does have a bad rap, though it is mostly due to the earlier versions and people not taking proper care of the transmission.
The transmission in my 1995 Aerostar went ... after 187,000+ miles! It saw heavy action, courier service, stop and go, loading it with building supplies, mild off-road through fields, etc. But, I changed the fluid and filter about every 30K. 187K out of an automatic tranmission, what more can you ask for?
I would go for it and make sure it does not have the obvious bad things such as ripped axle boots, loose hubs, or bad ball joints.
