Post 1972 Ford Camper Special

Hi Guys, I am looking at a Camper Special. This is a really nice truck. It is an ugly color, but nice. It is a 390 2v, 4 speed, probably a np435. 90,000 miles. Interior is near perfect. Runs great, shifts fine. Has zero rust. Even the bed has very few scratches in it. I have been looking on ebay and the prices seem just exorbitant. This guy is asking 3600 dollars. I was thinking more like 2000. He doesn't agree. I was wondering what a truck like this would go for in various areas of the country. I am in Omaha, NE and I don't think it is worth that much here. Any input is much appreciated. thanks again. bryan

Arizona
Similar trucks are selling here (Tucson) for $1,500-$3,000.

i would say that 3600 seems a little high, maybe closer to 3 would be better but if it really is that nice then that may justify the price, its ablll about how much ur willing to spend vs. the other guy. spend as much as you can afford, if he wont take it then dont worry about it.

I got my 76 camper special for $650, the body needs work (rust in all the low places) but she started right up after charging the battery and has been going strong for the last 5 years. I have probably spent 1500 on mechanical stuff over the years (brakes all the way, power steering, tires etc.) and I haven't even touched the body yet.
That's oK I mainly only use it to go to the dump or pick up oversized loads of firewood. With the extra suspension I have really supprised my buddies in their newer F150s with what I can carry out of the woods

No rust, interior perfect, runs great? For $3600 this truck would be gone in a day in the snow (rust) belt. I paid $3900 for mine about 5 years ago when it had about 63,000 on the clock and no rust. Best money I ever spent and would do it again in a second.

Post 1972 Ford Camper Special

I am looking into a 72 camper special that a guy I work with has. He doesn't drive it, and I haven't seen it yet, but he sez it runs good and isn't all hammered, and it has power steering and brakes. The only thing is, it has a 352 of an unspecified year and mileage. However, he only wants 500 bucks for it, and I think I can talk him down a little. My dad had a 73 C.S., and said that at that price it's a steal, even if it didn't run. So I think I'll just buy it, cuz I have a new car to drive around town in, so if it needs work, I can do it in my spare time. Any opinions?
