Hello FTE
Let me start by saying it has been a while since I was last on. Anyway I have bought a new to me truck. It's a 77 supercab camper special with a 460.I will try and post some pics. Overall it's a nice truck but I'm in need of a grill shell. I hate to pay $500 for a Denis carpenter grill (not that nice of a truck)but I'm striking out everywhere I check so I would like your guys opinion on where to look next
Thanks
X2 Craigslist parts truck or a cheap one with a blown motor, trans or real rusty, no title no bed ect...also ask fellow in state FTE members or close by fellow states members.
Hio silver I'm located in Kentucky about an hour east of Lexington I've been burning Craig's list up and just not many of those grilles to be had at least not right now. As far as budget goes haven't got a clue I was looking around 350 ish I don't need a NOS grille by no means would just like to make my truck look nice. 77&79 I liked your idea of buying a parts truck but my wife may not like Amy more yard art.....
You do know that a 78/79 grill shell/insert will work? As long as you get the headlight round or rectangle buckets and bulbs.
You might be able to swap the 78/79 grill shell and get the one piece insert and the round headlight bezels and use your original headlights with a little mod work?
I may have actually found a donor truck I'm gonna give the guy a call tomorrow do like you said 77&79 have a spare behind the barn. A few extra parts wouldn't hurt I'm going to put this truck on a 4wd supercab frame I have. And any extra parts might come in handy during the swap
