Just bought another 79 to add to the fleet.
Its a F150 Ranger 4wd 400, 4 speed, A/C, tilt. Has the Freewheeling package. Some of the striping has faded or peeled off. The body is in really good shape, only surface rust on the hood and roof. The interior is in great shape, door panels are good, dash pad is perfect, and it still has the GT style wheel. Has a upright 8000 Warn winch.
It was advertised as not running, so my original intentions were to part it out. But after seeing how clean and complete it was, I may just keep it. The previous owner said that the fuel pump failed which caused some fuel to go into the oil. Changed the fuel pump and it fouled the plugs, so he parked it. I'm thinking I can change the oil and the plugs and maybe a tune up to make it run. I have another complete running 400 if there is more to it.
Hopefully, I'll be bringing it home in the next few weekends, so I will post some pictures. I'm going to try to finish the paint on the 79 2wd and get it put back together to sell so I will have the room
You can never have enough of these trucks.
They are just to fun and easy to work on. Sounds like it's in pretty good shape, hopfully you can get it running.
Man I agree with MBB.I got 3 supercabs and a bronco and I'm currently eyeing a nice 78 bronco ranger that the owner and me are doing a little haggling over (ain't that half the fun),but I gotta say the little womans gettin a little aggitated with me.Some members in here though would take the truck over the wife!
I am lucky to have an understanding wife and neighbors. As of right now, I have 10 vehicles and a garage full of various Ford and GM parts, complete engines, transmissions, t cases and rear ends which has overflowed out into the side yard.

Congrats on the truck im glad to hear your not parting it out those freewheeling trucks are cool and rare too thats quite the fleet you got there to hope you get your truck running and enjoy it.
How much did you give for the freewheeling truck?
Personally Ive got over 20 vehicles in my stable. I think about 13 Ford trucks. I have no wife to complain and my neighbor is a mile away.
