yes my headlights they will start flickering off and on staying off for 2-3 seconds mainly on high beam when i got to low beam every once in a GREAT while but on high beam all the time plz help
There is a circuit breaker inside the light switch. They do go bad sometimes, but a more often the cause is bad grounds causing too much resistance, which makes the circuit breaker go off.
I would double check grounds between the core support, fenders, inner fenders, engine and cab, and frame first. Add any that you think are suspect. A self tapping screw and a short piece of wire is all that is necessary for a ground to start with. You can go back later to make them more permament if that turns out to be the problem.
If that doesn't stop it, then you need to replace the headlight switch, most likely.
Good luck.
My headlights started flickering a while back, turns out it was simply a head light switch..I cant say for sure if it was worse/diffrent with high beams on..But, I can say if you do have to replace your light switch, save your sales recipt...My original replacemant fell apart in about 2weeks. No sales recipt no refund..About $24. Not a fortune but shelling out more $ for the same part is no fun.The new replacement has worked fine, but I still have the recipt.
