I am still puzzled on which muffler to get,The Flowmaster 70 series or something from Magnaflow. What i want is a muffler for a 03 navigator that has the same db's at highway speeds but will growl when it is hammered, and all i what to do is replace the muffler only, unless someone thinks of something better to do .. and any model numbers,prices or where to buy??
well i added a magnaflow (dont know model number) to my 99 expedition...i was looking for a little more rumble than the stock muffler, but didn't want it to be too loud since this is a family hauler...i chose magnaflow because i thought it was quieter alternative to flowmaster
it has great sound win i get on it, but pretty much disappears when my foot is off the throttle
also, if you're going to swap the muffler, you should spend a little more and upgrade to a 3" catback system...you'll feel the difference in acceleration
got duals with glasspacks on my 97 expy and it is not that loud and has nice mellow sound . with the dual coverters on each side there is not much noise coming out the back anyway.

We support the Motorhaven forum shop and have the Flowmaster 40-70 series mufflers that should offer what you want in rumble and added performance.
From the www.motorhaven.com page, you can sort by brand at the top left of the page to see our prices on all Flowmaster models.... or search for other Magnaflow, Volant, or Borla products.
be careful though gator, i had one of the flowmaster series (can't recall which one, it was from the previous owner) on my 97 expy (now dead) and the low drone at highway speed drove me f'n nuts. didn't matter if the radio was on or not the drone was omnipresent all around highway rpms. for this reason i will never get another 'grumble' muffler on my 2000 unless a shop'll guarantee me i wont have that drone (and i doubt any will, but i haven't checked).
I also put on the FlowMaster 50 Delta Series, very nice sound at idle, good rumble when you step on it, and just a slight drone on the highway, sure better than a nag sitting next to you {
I just recently put a Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 series on the Expedition 3in inlet/outlet and man does that baby sound nice good low rumble at idle and when you open it up, it just makes you feel good inside
