I was in a huge hurry and started talking to someone and grabbed the black handle instead of green befor I noticed I pumped 15 gallons of gas then topped off with diesel so I now have a half half mix luckily only had to drive less than a mile home.
Is there something I can pour in it to save it like a couple gallons of new motor oil or do I just have to drain the whole thing so much for $87.32
All i would do is,drive it for alittle while, full it back up as soon as you have a little room.
Just keep it full with fresh diesel.
I also would put some DK in there to.
You've got 15 gallons of gas in your 29-gallon diesel tank? You need to drop the tank, clean it out, swap the filters, etc. You can cheat and dilute a gallon or two... 15, no way.
Green_Dually, I really hope the guy doesn't fry his motor because of your bad advice.
bad advice,i dont think so.I run dozors and a labor made the mistake and put gas in it.Guess what it still runs just as good as it did the day i bought the thing.
But you can do what ever you like.

But like i said this was in a dozer. Its an old cat.
But if you what you can dump it.Its your choice.
Everyone has there own opinion.
Right, your example is an old Cat dozer. A big engine, not tuned particularly hot, designed to tolerate some yahoo pulling the levers and another yahoo dumping fluids into it. A little different than the 6.0, which is a highly-tuned, high-precision motor.
To the OP, you've already driven the thing which was a Bad Idea. Drop the tank, clean it out and dispose of the contaminated fuel properly, drain the fuel/water separator (I'd pull the whole HFCM apart and clean it out), use a turkey baster and drain all of the fuel out of the filter housing on top of the motor, replace the filters, reinstall the tank, and try to get the diesel pump next time. A double-dose of Diesel Kleen wouldn't hurt for the first few tanks.
Or, have it towed to the dealer and let them do it.
Otherwise, it's about to get *real* expensive for you.
I been told trucker add some gas to there trucks for winterng driving so it will not gel up on them but I think it like 5 gallons of gas fro evey 100 gallons of diesel so the ratio it lot higher.
I would drain the system fill it with some fresh fule then run with it.
