OK, I have some more speedometer questions. So, I have a customized Ford 68 F250 with a married 79 NP205 attached to a C6. Does anyone have any idea what speedometer cable I can buy that will go into the NP205 and attach to the back of my 68 speedometer.
Fortunately, the transmission end of the speedometer cable is the same up to at least the mid-'80s.
Get one that will fit the back of your speedometer.
Is it a screw-in or a push in type?
It should be a screw-in type.
A lot of that calculation will depend on the number of driving teeth on the transmission's output shaft.
The most common tooth count I have seen is 17. Perhaps you can start with that and work up or down from there.

I just recently went thru the same thing. I have a 67 F-100 with a 1984 transmission and T-case. I did some research on the Internet and found a company in Washington that can custom make speedometer Cables. I called them and told them what I had and they made one for me. All under $50 if I remember correctly. The place is called Tacoma Speedometer. Do a search on the Internet. They also have calibration gears for correction. Hope this helps out.
