My console is stuck!!
I drive a 2000 F350 SD CC pick-up we purchased new. It has the bench seat with the pulldown console in the middle. A couple of months ago, I tried to open the console and found it was locked shut. I cannot figure out how to open it. I am most concerned because my Krispy Kreme coupons for this month are locked in there!! Can anyone tell me how to get it open?

Is there a small strap that you have to pull in order to get it to unlock, then pull it down? That's how the console in my Lariat is. the strap is on the pass front side.
Other than that, on my 94 F150 you had to pull the console to the drivers side then push it down. Maybe that will do it?

If the console is "locked", you are in doo-doo, 'cause the "hook" mechanism wraps arount the wire loop "strike" part 360 degrees when closed. Does the release lift up without relaeasing the lid, or is the release stuck, too?
This isn't something you can just slip a credit card into ang get it open. Sorry.

The release lifts up and nothing happens. This is very frustrating because I, of course, do not want to pay the hundreds of dollars the dealer will probably charge me to get it fixed.........I think I'll go call them now.......

Every once in awhile mine will do the same. I just slam down on or near the latch area with my hand and it will usually open. If not, I try to open it again and repeat the process. Works every time. Hope it works for you.
