Maybe I just missed this when I searched but I can't find much information on the torqueshift, and any noises/problems with it. Great transmission but it makes a slight clunk going from 2nd-3rd, and when in tow/haul, it makes the same noise in the 3-2 downshift. Any input would be awesome. Thanx
tsb--06-2-4 2005 excursion---2005-2006 e,f super duty supersedes 05-25-4. the fix is to reprogram the computer. This will also have diagnostic improvements for p2287(icp intermittent sensor circuit fault) and p0470(ebp sensor) 2005 only
Ok, it's been awhile, but had the reprogram done and it does the same thing. I thought I read somewhere where there is a split ring that's not the right size or something inside the tranny that could cause it. The thing is it does it on every 2-3 shift, normal around town, towing, in tow/haul, upshifting, downshifting. There is always noise between 2 and 3 gears. Also I can feel it in the floorboard, I don't know if it's a tranny noise, which I would guess, or rearend. Any thoughts or suggestions, I'm going to have the dealer take another look at it and maybe drive it with me. Again 2005 Eddie Bauer 6.0 T/S Excursion 4x4. 47k miles. No other problems at all. Thank you
I talked to a friend of mine who is a ford mechanic. He apprenticed under a tranny tech for a year before becoming certified. Anyways he said something about a snap ring, and something else about a two piece unit that is used to fix the problem. Anyone else know what he talking about?? Thanks
