It would help if you guys would say what part of the country you live in. But, since UPS ground is pretty cheap anyway try Tony's Ford Truck Parts in Portland Oregon 503-262-0636. www.tonysford.qpg.com
Do you still have the 66 steering box? I just had king pins installed in my 66 and was told the unit was worn out (hence the free play in the wheel) . I was told it would be real hard to find, but looks like I found one! Also need the orange plastic piece that holds the drivers window in the track, any extras? Thanks, Erik
I'm in Iowa. Sioux City to be exact. Don't know much about steering box replacement. Was told mine was worn out , hence the "wandering" in my steering. Just put new tires , king pins and an alignment on the old girl. Still likes to "wander" down the road, lots of play in the wheel. How much to ship the box, and how worn is it ? Thanks, Erik
S1 you have asked a good question. Now I am confused. After all the info swapping that I had with Ken Payne on the other thread, I had been convenced that new king pins and bushings would solve the steering problems.
As for the one that I have, I not sure what truck it came off of now. If it came from the truck that I bought from my father it worked well, but could have been damaged in the crash that my son killed the truck with.
I would suggest that yould should be able to find one local if you look for any truck 65-79 that didn't have power steering. Most of the 65s would not have ps where as most of the 79 would.
I can get the gear to you for $30.00 total.

Thanks John. The few local yards around here have or will be eliminating anything below 1980 in year. It's pretty sad , really because I was told they already got rid of alot of older iron. I remember a bunch of trucks at one particular yard where I got some mirrors, trim pieces , etc. I'll keep checking locally though. Thanks, Erik
