I have the opportunity to buy a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition from a dealer out in my area. The truck is being delivered locally so that I can take a look at it in a few days. Here are the details. Also, I have not seen the Teal color on any Explorers, Is this a god aweful teal? The picture made it look a little on the gold/tan side, but I know thats not the case. Does anyone have any colored photos of a teal explorer so I can get an idea before I see this one in real life? I dont like god aweful suprises.

1) Color: I don't recall offering a "teal" in 2000- it's probably what we called Tropic Green, which was a nice color- like an emerald green. There was also Spruce Green, which was a light greenish-blue. An okay color, but I thought it looked a little strange on the EB with the tan 2-tone.
2) Price: Edmund's shows a range of $19,200 to $20,200 retail TMV(True Market Value). According to their research, this is what dealers are SELLING them for, not "asking" prices. So, if the vehicle's in nice shape, you're not getting "ripped," but you're not stealing it, either. Hope this helps- good luck!

Retail is about $16,000, to $16,500 personally I think you can get it lower. Dealers make more money on used vehicles than new ones. There's a lot more room to negotiate then they may lead you to believe.
Good Luck
Ok. I Bought the EB! I am enjoying it very very much! I have been looking..this car is absolutely filled to the max with every option possible! This EB even had things the dealer did not know about...including a 6 disc CD Changer. The car is perfect shape not a scratch on it....leather is in good condition. I think I made the right decision.
