Hummmm... I changed the fluid in mine when I replaced the smashed trans line at around 165000 miles. Maybe it's time to do it again now that I have over 368000 miles on this E4OD that isn't any good. On the other hand... why should I spend the money on new fluid when these transmitions don't last ?
You changed at 160K and still going after another 200K. I'm happy for you, seriously. I think thats awesome. Based on what I've seen in the past and had experience with you are lucky. Congr.
Who said they don't last???????????????
As per another replier, "its not if its when". Its gonna go out. I think the consensus is that the tranny is the weak link.
I only lost one out of many & that went after 212000 miles. I usually put over 300000 miles on my trucks before I give them to the kids. Once they get them, they don't seem to last. On the other hand... last engine I lost was a 302 at 165000 miles. But I drove that for at least the last 60000 miles with a spark knock that *I* didn't have time to get fixed.
