Why isn't there a tach in a manual ranger?
I got a 1994 Ranger and there isnt a tach and i always wondered what they rev to and if i could put a automatic gauge cluster in?
now to the problem i got
i was driving down the road and my ac shut off.
i clicked to my fan... nothing at all no fan no ac... should i replace the relay under the dash and see if that corrects the problem?
last question
can i put the 1994 4x4 front bumper on my 1994 2wd ranger?

Reason: forgot the last question
It may be wise to break the question(s) up next time...
You seem to like these relays... in this case it maybe a fuse. Best bet would be to find your/A manual and find the related fuse(s) and put a meter on it. If all checks out start chasing wires. Didn't you have some "under-dash" burning and smoking on a different thread?
And as for the tach. It could come with a tach. My '94 with a manual did. It was a factory option and up to the original purchaser whether to get it or not.
I also don't see a problem with switching bumpers.
Pull out a multimeter and start chasing the A/C circuit starting with the fuse and relay.
The revving depends on engine. You could pull another cluster at the boneyard from a tach equipped vehicle and swap it in if you so desire, or pick up an aftermarket tach, they aren't hard to install at all.
yea that was the panel dome light switch that got hot and all the connecters melted inside thats why under my dash was smoking. but this trucks getting to be a hassel every time i drive it.
i looked in the fuse panel and when i pulled the relay for the ac that sucker was cooking hot.
i figured instead to making thousands of threads on questions id just throw it all in one, but i like the 4x4 bumers with the fog lights so i was gonna switch the non fog to the 4x4 one and wire the lights up. i guess i should start chasing wires tho, i had that fuel pump problem to when i hi ta bump i would have to reset my fuel pump so ...... yea thanks for you help tho

jk on the v-tec but ithas 182k miles clutch is slipping a little bit i went to discount auto parts ...........
tried the ac relay the guy behind the counter let me try it and if it worked he was gonna sell it to me but the relay for the ac didnt so im guessing some other fan involved may be or something but i got a multimeter now ill have to look at it
i looked under the hood in the fuse box and theres a a/c relay and i replaced that....
well the guy at discount automotive let me put a new one in and seen if that was the problem but it wasnt..
its weird tho no air blows out on the a/c or just the fan...
but if i push the *** in the yellowish light turns on and i hear the compressor or whatever that sound is of the ac click on but nothing blows out...
but after work im looking into it some more and gonna see whats going on because south florida summer days with no a/c sucks ballz
Don't know much about the a/c system, but one guy have a vaccum failure, and this caused the selector switch to fail. could this also be affecting this guy. just putting out a suggestion
