Very nice work, much cleaner! But on the holes you filled and added a lip (inside of fender?) won't that be a dirt/water catcher? i.e., rust down the road. Maybe some seam sealer?
I like, I like, I like. Been wondering how you were going to setup the wipers with the "Foose Cut". That hood pivot looks trick and I really like the "stop" being part of the mechanism and the adjustment features you are building in. Keep it coming. I always enjoy your work.
That is some very slick, trick and subtle stuff!!!
The hinge pocket looks way cool and very subtle. No one who is not really familiar with the area would have a clue. Very nice treatment of an otherwise pretty area...even cleaned up and filled as most folks do. (But I still don't get where the new part came from.)
The inside corners of the hood are even subtler. No one will notice that. Very nice.
The front flip mechanism is really slick, clean and well engineered. I love the height adjustment via the heim joint. That is a really neat way of doing it. Will you use a prop rod? Or does it go enough over center that you won't worry about a stiff wind slamming it?
You asked for opinions from someone you respect, but I figured I'll chime in anyway.
I like the hinge pocket/firewall mods, I think I mentioned a while back I was contemplating a similar pocket fill, except I'll leave the "distributor cozy" in mine.
Are you going to put some sort of actuator on the hood? What is your latch plans?
The cowl looks GREAT!
Tim,
Attention to detail, you've improved in areas that many over look, they will go unnoticed untill the details are truly studied.
Great craftmanship !
Not sure if I fit the respect thing, but oh well
Mike
Very nice! You may want to put a small curve at the end of your runner bracket to keep the back of the hood down, that is if your not going to ruin your nice work with a rear latch. My guess is your going to use the stock front latch ?
I think the hood corners are a real 2%er (only two percent of the people will notice).
Tim,
Once again your attention to detail simply amazes me!
The uninitiated won't have a clue as to why and how but they will know they are staring at something truly gorgeous.
I really like the smoothing and filling of the "almost" holes on the hood corners. The hood hinge is very clean and fits in with the styling of the truck nicely.
