Question:bare wire in tranny

Ok 1st off the 94 exp. does go into Reverse fine, BUT it takes it a min. to kick into Drive, however, it does have and sifts fine through the gears once in drive. So taking off tranny pan check for junk in there and I find a red and blue wire bare....Are these suppose to be here? What are they for? (thinking because E4OD)I have done a couple tranny's before but not recent, and not fords (no offense). Ran the codes and one was EGR other was EPC cercuit failure. There is also a hose off the tranny and when put back on it will not go into drive at ALL. Thanks

Ok took care of the wires, and tranny pan was clean!!
I don't get why it won't go into drive......Other than just a bad tranny. An opinion would be nice...
