thanks for the input guys , the expedition does have a rusted r/s exhaust stud that leaks , what seems like a lot of rust on the block , a/c and trans cooler lines.
well, why is it selling for $5k? My question is, why would you get rid of a bronco that you have a new motor and take this Expy with high mileage - it may be low for the year, but its 88,000 miles you've never seen. I've never been a fan of used vehicles with this many miles, but it's not like I've never gambled and taken the plunge. You'd be surprised how many people don't take care of their vehicles. 80,000 miles and 8 oil changes and you have a $5,000 heap of metal.
If you know the background, and feel comfortable letting go of a truck you deemed "reliable" then go for it, but it sounds to me like you may like that Bronco, and parting with it for a 98 Expy, isn't really worth it IMO.

88000 miles is not bad for a 98 that would actually be low mileage. as long as you can drive it and feel like it is something that you want get it. just be prepared to put money out on the off chance that something does go wrong. i purchashed a 97 expy 4 years ago and have had some trouble with it. tranny went out. fuel pump (or so the dealer says) then i had a short on the fuel injection wireing harness. So i say to you. do want you want.
I have worked on many of both of these vehicles and if i were you I would keep your bronco. if the expedition is rusty any problems you may have will be harder and more expensive to fix.
