I've owned 3 Ex's, all diesels, we currently have an 05 Limited 6.0, wouldn't have it any other way, and it's really not that noisy. Demand may be getting higher now that they don't make them anymore. Biggest mistake Ford ever made, discontinuing the Ex.

I bought the diesel. I had a F150 w 302 and towing 7 to 9 mpg pulling my boat at about 50 mph. The engine was a bit tired and it needed replacing. I found a good deal on the diesel 4x4 w 7.3 used and it has turned out to be a great machine. At 70 mph not towing but highway driving it runs about 19 mpg which I consider ok for a vehicle this size. 4x4 here isn't really a big plus and due to location and the diesel does call for higher resale. I would go v10 if not diesel but I chose to hold out to find a diesel the right price and guess I was just lucky. Jim

This truck...

{shakes head}

We're moving, and I've been using the X as a hauler rather than a tower. One trip I must have been badly overloaded, the handling was so bad during the 70 mile all highway trip to the new house. The MPG indicator says I got 15.9 @ a steady 62 for the trip while loaded. I was very pleased with this. So on the unloaded return trip, I reset the lie-o-meter and set the cruise at 65. My mpg on that leg was 15.3. Over the course of the next five trips out to the new house, this MPG strangness has held up over varrying speeds and conditions.

Aparrently I should just load a ton of sand in the back for normal everyday driving to maximize my MPG. :biglaugh:

This truck just blows me away every time I put it to work.
