Help me stick a list of parts together for my cousin. He wants to lift his truck (1990 f250 5L auto 4x4). I told him instead of buying the lift for a ttb he should find the parts to do a SFA (solid front axle) swap. Since his truck is leaf sprung, the swap would be much easier than a coil sprung vehicle....there are no radius arm brackets to put on, and you dont have to make sure the radius arm brackets and spring perches are square.
The shackles and hangers are already on his truck, he just needs leafs bent in the proper direction (those years had reverse leafs up front), and a solid front end to bolt under them, and a sway bar.
So whats a good donor vehicle, preferably one he can use the leafs from. Or can he rebuild the packs he has now, upside down (back to the proper way)?
Im going to post a link to this in the offroad and axle forums also.
