My key recently stopped working as well. That's why I finally looked at the power lock swithces. My lock cylinder would turn but not open the door. It turned out to be a small plastic lever that snaps on the end of the cylinder and connects to the linkage. It's a fairly common problem according to Ford parts man. should be a $3.00 part, but cost me $10 at the dealer. Oh well, at least they stocked them
