I searched the forums hoping to find some info on this problem but may have been using the wrong terms to get the results. Anyhow, I didn't find anything.....
My '02 F-350 SD Lariat came equipped with the back-up alarm sensors. I've already realized that the tailgate will set it off and that they need to be clean to work properly (they are clean).
My problem is that it's been rendered inoperable and I don't know why or how to repair it.
Aside from no sounding any alarms, the lamp on the dash is always lit. I can turn it off by hitting the button a couple of times but it comes back on immediately when it's put in gear.
I can't find any labeled fuse for this function and really am at a complete loss as to how to correct it.
you'll need to take to the dealer for repair. There is a bad module or sensor causing this. The same problem happened to wifes 03 explorer. It didn't get fixed till I traded it in. This forum appeared about 2-3 weeks ago. You might try a search on reverse sensing system.
Anyone knows that there was something broken like a module or sensor...anyone could tell you that. I knew that already.
Just as anyone could say take it to a dealer. I also knew I could do that already. That's a no-brainer. Why bother coming here to hear what a butcher or barber could tell you?
Look, I asked a question. I was polite and all I got was an attitude in return.
