My 2000 F150 has the 4.6 engine. I have used Motor Craft 5-30 for almost all the oil changes and have keept up on the maintenance when things wear out.
I have a 2000 F-150 with a 4.2 and I have almost 210,000 miles on the original motor and trans. Just keep up with your basic maintenance and they will run for a long time. Thats what I am doing this weekend.
My truck is a 97, 5.4L, 204Kmiles on it. Original motor and trans. I purchased it with 90kmiles on it and the truck has been very reliable and for the most part trouble free.
