The old gal finally took her last breath. 334 thousand and some change. I can't complain. Hopfully by the end of the week I will have a f250 diesel. I just hope to get the life out of it as I did with the F150.

Bought my '97 new in August of '96. 307,000 and still original engine and trans. Oil and filter changes every 5,000 miles and Slick 50 every 50,000. About to replace ball joints for the third time. One new radiator, one fuel pump, one computer and brakes about every 30,000. Gotta keep driving her for awhile (daughter in college).

2003 Screw 4X2 4.6L, W/ 104,000. Not much yet but counting. I cannot beleive people that buy such a nice vehicle and then don't drive it. Why? Do they not trust what their money is paying for?

I bought my 2004 Heritage XLT new in 04. She has the original 4.6L w/ Automatic. Fresh oil (Motorcraft 5w-20) and filter (820s) every 3K since new. She only has 106K due to multiple deployments until I retired in 07. Great truck still running like new. I did change the spark plugs at 100K just because I felt guilty for never having to do any work on her. Then I finally upgraded the brakes to drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads last month. She is my first and last new truck. Guess I give her to my daughter in my will.

My 98 will turn 274,000 this week sometime. She's a good ol' truck. The 92 that I don't drive so much anymore has 260,000 something. Another good ol' truck. As far as willing them to the kids, not. I'm takin' them with me. The 48 too.

Old thread but why not. I have 01 crew cab 5.4 4x4 with 259,434 miles on all original parts except the small stuff and a rear axle. I change the oil about every 5k. truck has pulled my toy hauler about 10000 miles and it weighs 12k . I think of dropping in a new engine but why if it keeps running. needs a little extra oil every 3k or so.

I just went past 196k miles on my '02 F150 4.2 auto. Bought it a few years ago with 117k miles on original engine/transmission. Runs great and will keep it until the wheels fall off. Can not afford a new one and do not want truck payments. GREATEST THING bought this with cash!

My 01 will turn 157k this week. I love this truck!! The rust on the underside of the body is starting to make me cry. I have been using Fluid Film on it and it seems to be working. Ive done the pass side exhaust manifold twice and the dreaded intake manifold. I did the plugs at 100k...they were bad....I think i will do them again soon........Long Live the 97-04 series!
