Quick question
i have a 95 ford f150 5.0
why is it when you first start going and get on it that the rpms like stop for a quick second at 2000 rpms and then build from there? also when you have the brake down all the way and floor the vehicle it will do the same... i noticed this screwing around obviously but is there any way to change this or what is it that controls this?

my 87 5.0 does the same thing, except it varies from 2000 to 2500 rpm

its a dead spot. Timing and fuel delivery are the answer to fix the problem.
Anytime ive had a dead spot, its just been the timing...on carb'd engines rotaries, and many ford v8s

so what would fix the fuel delivery? mine is fuel injected... but i can check the timing also... what should i set the timing to?

I dont know what to set the timing to, someone else should know. It could also be your plugs/cap/wires...but I would get the timing set right first

10 degrees with the spout out is the setting most 300's are set at.
