Well, after all the work of lowering the truck, swapping tires, & setting up the suspension for better handeling, we loaded the truck and hualed it to the drags, when we got there we fired it up & unloaded it, I was only supposed to run exabition, so we towed the truck up to the line, & when I went to fire it up, it would not start, ,
We drug it back to the pits, & found out that one of the coils had shorted internally & burn up part of the ignition box,

Then it was a panic trying to get the parts here & installed in time to go to the mud drags in OR,
Now the truck has a new MSD 10 plus box & coil so all is well,

Monster, they stayed on top of the track really well, when it started getting rough they brough the dozer out & groomed it, the only problem was the track was getting deeper & deeper, (cut into the ground, not deeper mud) combine that with a narrow track & it was hard to keep my wide pig in there,

I mentioned taking all the mud out of one lane & putting it the other, (for about a 3 ft deep pit) then we could have some fun, but not to many others were very enthused with this idea,

As far as the tranny goes, I'm in the middle of sorting that out right now,

What servo and apply lever do you have in that trans? It's entirely possible that you actually have second but are just overpowering it.

I am running the "D" servo with the 2.82:1 apply arm, after messing with it most of the day wednesday, and a little yesterday if found that the coan reverse pattern valve body I had in there had an odd way of working, it applied pressure to the servo in all forward gears, but it also applied pressure to the release side of the servo in 1st & 3rd, wich over came the apply pressure, when second gear is selected it drops pressure to the release side, therefore applying the band, I'm not sure which part was not working, on the stands it seemed to work fine, but under power, no change in rpm from 1st to 2nd, but with this VB I could see it having some residual pressure in the release side of the servo, so second would not be applied preoperly,

I went ahead & put the TCI unit back in, I'll give it a try next bog,

Hey Pro, isn't there room on that card for a boaring bar? If you had one, waiting on the machine shop would be a thing of the past,

You should have preasure on the release side in third, but not first. Are you sure it's applying preasure on both sides in first gear? The release preasure comes off the direct clutch apply valve and shouldn't be there in the first gear position.

Hmmmmm *wheels turning*

Naw, now that my ginormous compressor (25 cfm at 100psi) has arrived, the cards getting locked up for a bit. The thing weighs 604# so I'd better not try picking it up and moving it in the compressor closet myself. Speaking of which, I need to build a bigger compressor closet.......

Man, with both of your guys problems with the c-6s I'm thinking a little old' air shifted unit might be nice when I gotta go that route again.

Well you better get that card paid off before you even think about airshifted trans cause what you have spent so far is probably not even close, heck you could almost make a decent down payment for what Ivan has into his engine.

Oh, everythings paid for, I never carry a balance on the card...I find paying interest irritating, lol. But I've been spending so much all my $ has been going to keeping the ol' visa payed off instead of getting dumped into the motor fund. Anyways, I thought you could pick those up for under 4k? No?

Under $4k? well maybe if you get real lucky and find some widow or ticked off ex wife that either doesn't know what she has or is just irritated and trying to get even. new try around $11k and then don't forget you will have modify several things to make it work although with a divorced Tcase that would eliminate a lot of it. And then there is the couple thousand you will need for a clutch setup for it including bellhousing etc, or you could go with a lenco drive and just spend a couple hundred for a convertor etc.

Hmmmm, well, suckage. Ivan was talking to his monstertruck buddy who's running an airshifted trans (I just assumed it was a lenco....or as is more likely he told me exactly what it was and I forgot and assumed it was a lenco) and I thought he said we could run one for 4k. Soooo, either he's running something other than a lenco or I'm just on crack about the price. Yea, no way I could justify it with the lenco prices you quoted...unless I hit the lotto

edit: the one I'm talking about is a B&J air shifted 3-speed.
