Tranny Fluid?
I am rebuilding my 1977 C4 transmission and I know it originally used Type-F fluid, but I was wondering if there was any advantage to using some other type of fluid after my rebuild? I will also be replacing my old torque converter with another stock converter when I reinstall the tranny. Thanks.

If it needs type F it needs type F. Dexron and mercon are not compatible.
You might be able to find a synthetic type F, and that is about as far as I would go on using a different fluid.
