your favorite auto supply (pep boyz, auto zone, etc) and as an added bonus Mercedes, BMW (sweetum's drives an X3) also use a 36mm socket

I beleive a 1 3/8" socket will also sufice. A little loose.

Get the 3/8" drive Lisle socket. It is not as deep as a standard 1/2" drive socket which will help with the frame mounted fuel filter. It is also 6 point which fares better with the plastic.

i work on these all day 14.5 qts to 15 qts ... usually because these are all at operating temps so more oil is going to drain in a shorter time than if it is a cold/warm engine ...

my first oil change i put in 15 and it was right below the max line

i bought my 36mm at sears as well ... but i also ended up getting a flip socket that is a 36mm and i think a 24mm for the top fuel filter only cost 9 bucks from snap on i was very surprised ... the fuel filter on the frame rail is the same cap as the oil filter ... a 36mm
