I have a 2004 f150 Scab STX and im looking for a new exaust for my truck but i have no idea of what to get so i was hoping that someone on these forums has put a new exaust on there truck and could make some sugestions???(like, dislikes, very exstensive installtion or not) i dont have a limit for cost but an idea of how much it would cost would be greatly appreciated....
Best bang for the buck...Flowmaster 3' cat back with a "50" series muffler, single pipe mimicing the factory placement, aluminized steel...about 280 bucks from Summit.
Depending on where you live (northwest) a stainless setup might be better from a durability standpoint. I'm in So Cal, so rust is not a problem for me.
Get the magnaflow stainless set-up! You will not be disappointed. I have the 16612 on mine and i have a buddy that has the set up on his 04. His actually sounds a little deeper than mine.

I am looking at the Corsa with dual same-side tips. They are pricier than most, but I want to guarantee no-drone. Anyone have Corsa Cat-backs and can share the experience. Seem to run around 600.00. Thanks
A recent member on here had recently purchased a Mac Performance "Lightning style" set up for his truck (the one that exits in front of the pssngr rear tire/duals). I was trying to get more info about that one but Mac failed to respond to my four (4) inquiries.
With that said... I myself has also inquired about who had what on thier trucks (as far as exhausts) and I had a pretty good response ...so I'll leave you this.. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=397409
I'll still be in the 150...while I decide "yay" or "nay" on my exhaust... Happy hunting...

Just finished installing a Gibson Extreme Stainless steel exhaust on my '06 Screw - I wanted a system that would give me factory look with a nice deep sound - I believe the Gibson delivers - It doesn't run you out of the truck at highway speeds just a faint rumble - nice sound during acceleration and idle -
It's designed to exit behind the rear tires like the factory exhaust - uses all the factory hangers even the new ones for the other side appear factory - A person would be hard pressed to tell the wasn't a factory system.
The whole system took about 1-1/2 hours to install - that's pulling the factory system (in one piece) and installing the Gibson.
I purchased it from 4 Wheel parts - $533.00 total and no shipping charges which is good considering it weighs 56 lbs.
I kinda went the other way, went home to Alabama where there's a great exhaust shop in Oneota and he hooked me up with a Flowmaster 50 Series with Delta Flow and all custom mandrel bent tubing for $258, dual exit with stainless tips. All welded into place.
I love the sound (I wouldn't mind it being louder, but my wife would) and I don't get a drone. Hell for the price I paid even if I did get some drone it ain't nothin a little loud country or southern rock can't fix.

How much quiter would a dual outlet rear exit setup be with the Flowmaster 50 series, versus the same setup with a Flowmaster 40 series? Just bought me a new 2006 F-150 SuperCrew XLT Texas Edition, 4.6L, gotta give it some sound now, only have 200 miles on it so far but it's drivin me crazy being quiet! Everything I've owned I've put exhaust on! I just want this one to sound good, but not be too loud in the truck (mainly the backseat) on the highway. I've had 40 series on other trucks before, just wondering how much quieter the 50 series would be on my new truck. Thanks!

I have the 50 Series with dual tips, at idle its got a low throaty rumble to it, when I step up on the gas it'll give some good sound, but at cruise its not noticeable at all. I don't think its loud but when I pull into the driveway at home my 2.5 year old daughter knows daddy is home without me trying to wake the neighborhood.
So long story short, its got some good sound without being overbearing. I hope this helps ya. I do kinda wish it were louder to let the neighbors know I'm home, but its probably better that it isn't.
I got a JBA exhaust system from truck performance for $295. I installed it myself. I dont get ANY drone it sounds great. one thing I did realize after I pulled my factory exhaust off is the stocker system was stainless steel.
Thanks! I would like something loud, but I've still got my other truck thats loud, this one I want to keep "highway driveable" with the interior noise. On my other truck, no one can talk to each other on the highway. I'm going to check out kit prices online and then get some quotes around town and see what happens. Once again, thanks for the input, and I look forward to many more posts here!
