I got an injector line kit from mwfi.com and I have run into some things. The injector splitters that connect all the rubber hoses together, my first injector (closest to radiator on drivers side) has only one split going out of the splitter, I recieved 4 angled splitters and 4 straight splitters but one of the angled splitters needs to have one of the ports gone somehow, not sure what to do on that. And how do you take everything off of the injector across from the first one (closest to radiator passenger side), I started untightening the line nut and it just seemed to twist the steel line and all the crap underneath that none of the other injectors have. I also have 8 copper washers which I am not sure where go?
The copper washers are for the injectors themselves if you're replacing them. On the #1 injector (near the fuel filter) if you turn the bottom nut instead of the top one, it'll come off. I found if you take the fuel filter out first it gives you more room. As far as the injector on the front driver's side, mine is an "angled splitter" and one line goes to the IP. Mine is on a '93 7.3IDI, non-turbo. Not sure what engine or year you have. I just replaced these return lines this past week. A little time consuming, but easy enough.
I got it all done, there is a line that goes from the #1 injector to the fuel filter that I am having trouble sealing, keeps leaking a little at the fuel filter, zip tied it and ran into town to get a hose that fit, those are smaller ones but it hasn't leaked since I zip tied it, hose clamp wasn't doing the job but I got everything in the truck for when it does finally leak to replace it, I got some clear hose so I could see the air bubbles. Not sure why but my EGTS are up since I did this, I also do not have to press on the gas pedal as much. Don't know if it was running on air bubbles or what.
I also came to find those angled things are called tees. Mine never seems to have what all the other trucks have, mine has a screw on the bottom of the fuel filter instead of whatever screws onto the bottom of the the filter, got one from autozone and couldn't understand why it had a big hole on both ends, NAPA is the only place that sells the one with just a screw to let the water out.
Yeah, I have horrible luck at AutoZone. Napa always seems to get it right. I usually take the old filter/whatever with me when I go. I'm way to Polish to remember it by sight.
Oh, and make sure you're fuel filter is snug. I didn't hand tighten mine enough, and after sitting over night, it was tough to start. I think it'll be alright now.
