Question Running hot

Since last post....................have replaced thermostat
(195 degree F).....................installed heavy duty fan clutch.......
refilled with pure water and Prestone rad flush.......

Following directions of 6 hrs drive time......will drain in the am.

Have been driving 3 days using AC........today (1st time in 95F heat).....runs 80% warm at stop lights but recovers quickly when under way. When shut down she's boiling and dripping. What's it gona do under a load?

When radiator was off truck and inspected it looked fine.....I don't mind buying one......just trying to prove it out.

My question on the tranny is .......would changing fluids and filters........really be of benifit?

PS: gonna replace rad cap also just for the heck of it....seems ok if water boils through it ......to me at least.........ideas?

Are there any bubbles in the overflow while it's running? It could be a head gasket problem. I had a car that ran cool except sitting still and it ended up being a blown head gasket. No water in the oil and no steam, just compression into the cooling system.

You may have a radiator shop flow test the radiator, it could be partially clogged.

A good tranny flush will help it last alot longer. I recommend having it power flushed.

Talking Running COOL!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your reply ........(will remember all).......

.....I had run a rad flush for 4 days or approx 400 miles......when I attempted to drain the rad........NO flow.........I yanked it out
(I'm getting good by now).............................and put about 130 lbs air thru it......or to it I must say.......I made several attempts and BAM...........junk splattered all over me.......almost a handful. .......I then ran a 10 minute cleaner through the rad after putting her back..........drained, refilled and
am still driving C-O-O-O-L ...........I think I got it.........

It was so weird the way it acted..........from now on.........yank rad, clean or replace.....then go figure .............
