A few weeks ago while driving my 77 F-150 4X4 351M the rear drive shaft suddenly broke away from the rear axle. So I towed the truck in and had a few u-bolts replaced and fixed her right up, but didn't realize that this event also caused my transfer case housing to crack, which broke the seal and causes the truck to spill gear oil everywhere. I took it to the local transmission man, he ordered the part, but turned out to be the wrong part, and he was so frustrated with all the problems that were coming with the truck, he basically told me that he would pay me to just get the truck out of his shop. So now I need to find this part, was wondering if any of ya'll could point me in the right direction. I hope I'm naming it correctly, it's the cone looking part that the front of the rear draft shaft fits into.
Thanks for the help.

we need to know what kind of Tcase it is first off.....a pic would help....but IMO the best way for you to find one is to remove the broken piece and take it with you to a salvage yard or dealer to match it up...
I agree with SwOkc. Go junkyarding. Take the part off and bring it with you so you know you are getting the right part, just in case the junk guys don't know exactly what you are talking about, or if they don't know what they are talking about too.
name of the part is extension housing. 203's are aluminum and rather large. I used JBweld to put mine back together, and it worked fine thereafter. However mine didn't break where the seal is. 205's are smaller and are cast. I'd look for a 205 either way, and replace the whole thing, as this would probably be the easiest and quickest fix. Also with the 205 you can run locking hubs and run in 2wd for mpg reasons.
Havi, George Frasier, where would I find this 205? In the junkyard like the others say? There's got to be an easier way. I hate junkyards, the folks running them won't help you and I really don't have the tools to remove the needed parts.
NP 205's are found on older Fords and some Dodge pickups. Any junk yard that wants your $$ will point you to a vehicle. There ARE some aftermarket 205's availible - look in magazines like "Four Wheeler" and "Peterson's 4Wheel & Off-Road". Several venders are avail = at a price/new.
If you go to a junkyard, bring a rachet set, even a wrench set would work to take of the 205, but if you don't want to go through that trouble, then just get the piece you need. I picked up a perfect 205 out the junkyard for $50(and they pulled it off for me).
Ebay is also a good place to find a 205. I have my ebay set to show "items near me" so I can find one local. I bought a C6/205 combo for $50 that was only 80 miles away.
I'm not the expert here, but wouldn't he also need a different adapter and driveshafts?
