I could have beat this guy senseless this morning... I'm on may way to work and I get behind a guy in a Dodge Ram. I'm in a little bit of a hurry so I wait for a passing lane to open. The coast is clear and I start to pass him. When I looked in my side mirror the ********* had sped (sp) up and was riding right next to me!! He wouldn't let me over. The road was ending so I got back behind him and I let him know I was pissed off. Every bird you could think of was flying at him. All that so he could stop at a local small town breakfast joint!! I almost stopped and spoke my mind and beat some sense into him but I didn't have time. Now what if something were to happen and one of us wrecked?? I hate to say it but I wouldn't have stopped for him. Not over his stupidity. That's his own damn fault. People are just plain...well...stupid anymore. I don't get it...I've always said I was brought up in the wrong era. I'm only 27 but hell...I was raised better than most people my age and apparently some older. Sad really.......
I was once wound that tight. Now I'll even pull over at times so that tailgaters can get past me. Leave earlier next time so that you don't have to be "in a bit of a hurry".
I once pulled in front of a guy who was trying to pass me because he was in too much of a hurry to notice that the car ahead of the car in front of me was about to turn left. It would have been very ugly.
You were driving in Atlanta were'nt ya. Come on admit it! See here if you are only doing 80, 85 mph, people wave the bird at ya. You should be in the right slow lane driving that speed.
I couldnt agree with you more. There used to be a time when you better not pull any crap like that unless you are ready to back it up, because someone would beat your a**. Everyone is protected today, by laws, insurance etc. It tends to breed stupid and discourteous people. Unfortunately, it appears as though they breed like rabbits.
Next time don't look in the mirror. Hit the blinker and go.
If I wasn't driving my mustang I probably would have. It was temping but I've already got one small dent in the drivers' rear panel from an idiot two winters ago sliding into my car at the grocery store.
I'm not going to let it bother me. Just pisses me off that people can be that much of an @$$. That's alright...he passes my house everyday....spike strips work wonders... j/k
I tell you people these days you won't even know them and you pass them and they take it as an offense, its crazy some people are just in a hurry so just elt them go, no reason to sit and cry and take it as an insult. You did good though glad nobody was hurt.
If it is any consolation on my way home from Calgary yesterday a guy in a Black Dodge Ram 4x4 was taligating everyone on the highway obviously wanting to go faster than anybody else.
He was weaving in and out from lane to lane and there were so many near misses with other vehicles.
I thought this guy needs a reality check...maybe the police with catch him doing something stupid , well .....
Well, it ended up better than that.
about 15 miles up the road from the action I saw, there was the truck sitting on the side of the road with a hazards on ....driveshaft hanging down and huge amounts of fluids all over the place...the truck dead as a duck.
Also, in a 65 mile stretch of road.
sitting on the shoulder wth the hood up:
2 Camaros, 1 Firebird and a GMC 4x4.
You are painting with a pretty broad brush. There has been and will always be drivers like you describe, but they are a minority and, fortunately, stupidity is not contagious. You did the right thing by not stopping.

I hate driving in Atl. I've had to go thru on my way to Dalton several times in the last few months. People doing 90-95 jumping from lane to lane, others doing 70 in the fast lane. I've got 1 more training class to take and hopefully I won't have to go back for a while.
