I installed ZDelete on mine; put a check in all the clean/delete options and let 'er buck. Internet options / cookie delete and file delete doesn't do as much as one might think, like saved username/password auto complete are still available if someone happened to go to the same bank site that you use, and you had checked 'remember my username and password' they would be in. YOu can set ZDelete to do it's thing at every logon.
When I sell an old computer of mine I turn off the system restore on all drives then delete all progies I added and reformat 20 times in a row through the advance option on refomat screen. The typical refomat without the advanced is just a surface refomat and leaves alot junk on the computer.
I agree with Mil1ion Replace the Hard drive with another and you keep the important one.
Just make sure it's a new one. I would hate to get caught turning one into work and finding out the used hard drive I installed had something that either could get me fired or incarcerated. Because of a used hard drive off of someone else. The money isn't a waste, if you do not loose your job or freedom in my opinion.
My wife has a friend back in the U.K. that swapped a used formated hard drive they got off Ebay to replace the work one. They are currently going to court because the company recovered alot of illeagal stuff off the hard drive. They lost their job and the person they were dating. All because of a Ebay bought used hard drive. I am not knocking buying on Ebay. But simply stating you never truely know what your going to get out of a sweet deal. Hense the saying "Buyer beware!"
