I should be receiving my new programmer today. Is there anything I should do before I plug and play? Update, etc.?
Any & all help is greatly appreciated.
This is not necessary, but i would do it: Download the software and go ahead and do an update before installation. This way, you will know that the software is working for future updates. Also, when you install and you are satisfied with everything, just because there may be a new update, if you like what the edge is doing, don't do the update. If it is not broke, don't fix it. You will love the Edge.

Thanks guys for the info. As soon as I got home from work, I went straight to the computer with the Edge in hand. I proceeded to download the software. It went ok until the install began. Upon installing the driver, the computer stopped the install to inform me that I need to contact the company with the software (Edge Products) due to the driver not being compatible with the Windows XP Gate or something. So, I bypassed the driver install & continued to install the lightning program. Needless to say, it doesnt work.
Has this happened to anyone else? The destructions are kind of vague as to updating the programmer. Can someone take the time and tell me the steps for downloading, installing the software for Windows XP, & updating the programmer.
Almost forgot. I installed the programmer into the truck without updating, installed setting #2, and all I can say is OH YEAH!
I just want to get the most current update! Thanks in advance....Iric

Was it an error for an un-registered driver, incorrect digital signature? If so, you will need to re-install. Ignore the error and finish the install. Sounds like your short a couple of file for the program to work. Your firewall should not be a problem when installing programs.
