Here we go. I have no doubts from this forum that the DP is likely the best chip, but I am quite happy with my TS. Got a 6 Pos for about $260. That is about the price of a 2 or 3 from DP.
I got mine from evilbay so support and customer service is from TS. I have had no contact with them as of yet and haven't needed to. I can't say how much better a DP is, but I'm not missing it that much. I would love to do a comparison test someday but funding precludes that.
I believe strokin_it has a TS that compared quite favorably on recent dyno runs. Of course, I believe the BD chip and some other brand I cannot remember are TS chips. And that's my .02.
I love my DP chip since I installed it, but like Tenn01PSD350 said, a lot of people like their chips since they are such an improvement over stock. I have never tried the TS ship so I can't comment, but the power gains are incredible and I am sure the TS chip is quite good compared to stock as well!! Once you chip it you will never go back to stock unless you are letting your significant other drive it!
Hands down the DP chip. You'll get great personal sevice from Jody and Dianne, arguably the best performance you can get, and in a few weeks they'll be releasing a new chip with a digital display. A few guys here have switched from the TS chip to the DP chip and did notice an improvement. But, like Tenn said, the DP is more expensive than the TS.
I switched from a Bully Dog chip to a Bully Dog chip brainwashed by Jody at DP. It's a four position switch type chip and it works great. I use my high idle setting quite a bit. In the winter I warm up the truck a bit, in the summer I use it to get the AC nice a cool before I get in.
i got the ts 6 pos chip off ebay too, and when it came it came with the wrong code, cause mine is a california truck so i guess its different, the people at ts were reallly helpful and only took about 5 mins to get ahold of them, i sent the chip back and they reporgrammed and called me while they were reprogramming it asking if i wanted anything special. although i have only heard good things about dp, u can get the ts chip for about 3/5 the price of a dp chip. most poeple the extra price is worth it, in my case im strapped on funds so i went with the cheaper one and im very pleased with it so far. ive had it in for about 6 months now
thanks for the input. I tried to call jody to day and ask some questions, but they are closed until after July 4th. going to talk to ts performance too, hopefully I can make a decision after I talk to both companies.
I would like to know if any one has done a true comp. on both chips, dyno, and maybe hooked up to a realtime computer.I drag race, so I don't really trust the seat of the pants factor. Its all in the numbers, because i have been really surprised before of the outcome.
