My 2001 Lariat driver seat makes a knocking noise when starting off and stopping which is very irritating. I have verified that it is where the seat connects to the rails that are for adjusting the seat forward & backward (Power) by the way.
Has anyone else had this problem and what would you suggest to fix it? My brother in law who own's a tire & repair shop suggested I put some heavy lithium grease in the track.
Mine does it occasionally too, and I can tell it's coming from the seats. Haven't done anything to fix it yet. I guess once it annoys me enough I'll try and find a way to quiet it.
My '04 Lariat was doing the same thing, popping when stopping or taking off. It is still under warranty, so I took it to the dealer and they replaced the seat tracks. All good now.
So does mine and it's a 99. Ford must have a real strategic fix for this one. They are still in the planning stage after it being a problem for 7+ years. The new interior in the 08's might resolve this but I would not put money on it.
