LAST EDITED ON 08-Jan-01 AT 05:19 PM (EST)[p]for a 1975 Extended cab F250. My truck has a new 390 motor and the body is in good shape for the year. The interior is immaculate. Recently put on dual exhausts. I have always wanted an extended cap in good shape. The 1975 F250 has a 460 in it. The interior is in excellent condition, not quite as good as mine. There is a little surface rust on the tailgate, and when you look at the box from the back, the right side dips down a little. The fellow that owns the truck said he got it off a retired dentist. The truck is yellow and white and has orginal paint still on it. The question is, I know what I have in my truck and I know it has a new 390. The 75 looks to be the real deal. Im thinking about trading him straight up. I need advise of the experts. Am I being stupid trading and if I do trade what are some things I need to look at on the 75. Your help is greatly appreciated.
You better hold on to that 70 . these trucks(67-72) are getting hard to find (in my area anyhow) and are only going to get harder. It sound as if the bed is starting to fall apart. the 73-79 are bad for the bed's rotting badly,on the 67-72 the cab mounts and floor take it badly but is easily fixed. hold on to that 70 it's now a classic.
I would hang on to your truck, the ’70 F250 Ranger XLT was the top-of-the-line, a real keeper. You might be kicking yourself a few years later for letting it go. Personally I think you would be loosing with a straight trade, maybe try to swing it and buy it outright instead. Then you would have the better truck and the one you want too.
I traded my motorcycle for a '78 F150 Ranger Lariat Supercab with a 460. I paid $250 for the bike, and had to throw in $50 to seal the deal. The truck had quite a few problems, though. I also have a '70 F100 Custom. It's a keeper.

Another thing it boils down to is do you prefer the 73 style over the 67?Which is more comfortable.I have both.A 70 F250 4x4 and a 79 F150 4x2.4x is 4spd and 2x is C-4.Best of both worlds.
IF you really want a ex cab do whats best for you. Also, does collectabity matter to you???
It does to me but maybe you are different. You wont find another 70 like that for the money.
Think about it?

I would hang on to the 70, because there are so many of these 73-79s for sale, if you don't want to pay $2,000 today, wait and I'm sure that you will find another one for cheaper they come across this site very often. That's my opinion, plus I like the grill on the 70 over the 79.
