I have a 1998 E-Super Duty V-10 chassis for my 32 foot motorhome. The Service Engine Soon lite comes on regular as clock work under the following conditions. Traveling about 100 to 120 miles at highway speeds, stopping for about 15 - 20 minutes, and lite comes on about 5 minutes after returning to motoring down the highway. Code always indicates lean on both banks. Have replaced PVC, checked out EGR and MAS, do not detect a vac leak - any suggestions.
Have you changed the O2 sensors anytime in the past? These usually start to get flakey around 80K to 100K. They could cause the problem. When either or both banks are lean, often it is the sensors either detecting a true lean condition or sending a false signal. With enough miles they should be changed as routine.
The O2s can be a pain to change. Might be 4 of them, usually the ones before the cats go bad. Use antisieze on the threads when you replace.
Also when was the last time you changed the fuel filter. These need to be done probably every 30K. They degrade slow enough that you don't notice it for a long long time. The filter is relatively cheap easy maintenance. You will need that funny little fuel filter tool for Fords.
