This post is way off topic, but I wanted to let me friends know whats going on. I am not whining or looking for sympathy...ok? If George (or whoever) decides to delete it thats ok too.
I have been sick off and on for the last few months. The last two weeks have been horrible. I ended up in the local hospital Thursday. I was really dehydrated, they thought I had pancreatitus and my kidney transplant was failing. They took me from here (Mountain Home) to Little Rock in an ambulance Saturday.
After further tests down there, they determined that the pancreas was just in shock, but was recovering. They took a biopsy of the kidney Saturday. They sent me home Sunday to wait for the results of that until today.
Tonight I received the bad news. The kidney is shot. They are trying to arrange for surgery tomorrow to place an access for hemodialysis. That will start tomorrow night if all goes well.
What does all this have to do with the truck? Well....for now I am really sick and I just started running up thousands upon thouands of dollars in medical bills. The truck is on hold for as long as it takes I guess. I hope I am able to keep my job (once I get better) and keep the truck. It will be one of the slowest builds in the history of FTE though. Watch out Jniolin.....you'll have compitition for your title.
Sorry to hear of your problems -- hope for a speedy recovery with plenty of garage time in your future! But if you have to sell the truck, it won't be the end of the world, either, nothing to compare with having your health!
Hang in there.I will say a prayer for you tonight. As far as the longest build in history, you have long ways to go.I got my 54 in 1980.Right now it is just a cab and frame.
Brain,
Sorry to hear that you took a downturn. If there is anything that we can do all you have to do is say the word
Don't worry about the truck. The cool thing about these old trucks is they will wait for you for as long as it takes (they won't even hold a grudge)
Try and keep a positive attitude, if nothing else, check in here from time to time for some good old fashioned smart-alek comments.
Brian,
I'm very sorry to hear of your troubles, You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Keep a positive outlook, (after meeting you, I know you will).
Keep us updated, and let us know if ther is anything we can do for you.
Here's hoping the best for your health. Also hoping things work out so you get to keep your truck. I wouldn't just yet reach for that slow-build title.
Gosh Brian, what a bummer. I am on site this am to send you a pm about the hood hinges we spoke of a while back. While looking for other stuff I found the box with hinges, new springs and bolts along with installation tool for springs. I am sending them so that once you have recovered from this set back, you will have them if you decide to use them. No doubt in my mind that recovery is on the horizon for you, you've got the best group here rootin' for you. You will have lots of positive energy flowing your way. Hope you will feel like visiting FTE and keep us posted. Joe
Brian,
Sorry to hear of your health problems as they can sure throw a wrench into our normal lives. We're all pullin' for ya and wish you a speedy recovery and will keep you in our prayers.
God bless,
Kent
Hang in there and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. The truck is your therapy and motivation, Good Lord willing and all of our prayers you'll be back to your ole self soon.
Brian, Of course my thoughts and prayers are with you but if there are any medical questions that I can answer for you send them my way. I have been fortunate getting help on this site with my truck questions since I am a novice but my alter ego and how I make the money to spend on my truck is cardiology. Sometimes the medical mumbo jumbo can be confusing so let me know if I can help. Hang in there dialysis isn't that bad just time consuming.
Sure sorry to hear about your medical problems and I hope you can get some relief soon. I will be sure to pray for you. Just keep dreaming about driving that 56.
