Backup Lights Switch for 70 F100 C6
Greetings, all:
I have a 70 F100 C6 (read: automatic transmission) and my backup lights don't work. I'm having trouble finding information about this in the service manual. I'm fairly certain that some wiring harness somewhere is simply disconnected, and that reconnecting it will solve this problem. However, I don't know where the backup light switch is (I thought it would be on the tranny, but I can't see anything that looks promising there). Any advice about where this is would really help. Inspection is coming, and I know they're gonna gripe about those backup lights.
Thanks in advance,

Kourtney, thank you for advising us on the C6. I am not sure when they made the change, but some have a switch on top of the steering column about 8 or so inches from the floor. Black, yellow, and green are the three wires going to the tail lights for brake, tail, and signal. Just trace the other wire back to the steering column and you should find the problem.
Good luck, and welcome aboard, and make yourself at home. I hope that you will find this site informative and helpful keeping your truck on the road.

The backup light switch and neutral start switch are one piece. Looks like one switch. It is on the steering column about 8 inches up from the floor. Get a volt meter, they are cheap, last a long time and make this electrical stuff a lot easier.
