Just purchased

I just bought a 2000 Ranger 4x4 with the 3.0 FFV engine. It has 67000 miles. I am going to change plugs and plug wires. Should I consider putting an aftermarket coil pack on as well? If so is there a recommended one such as Mallory or Accel. The truck is used for normal driving, is completely stock and I am just interested in the best I can get out of it without major changes. Also is there an aftermarket exhaust system for this engine application that would improve performance? Not interested in turbo's, cams, etc. Just bolt-ons to help out.

Welcome! People have had good things to say about Gibson exhaust systems; there are some other brands that are just as popular. Try doing a search in this forum and the Ranger forum.

Don't forget new air and fuel filters as part of the tuneup, and consider giving your MAF sensor a cleaning for good measure:

An aftermarket coilpack will do nothing for performance. Save your money.
