I have a 1993 F150 - 300-6.
When replacing the coil (not the fender mounted, but engine mounted) I pulled the whole assy out using the bolts on the bottom.
What is the small cylindrical (looks like an old condensor would) that is also mounted on the same bracket as the coil?
That is the noise supressor. It keeps unwanted pulses from being backfed into the electronic devices and causing noise. If you remove it it can cause interference in sensor inputs and radio noise.
