ok i know this may be a dumb question but im ready for my 2nd oild and i bought a case of motorcraft synthetic blend 5w-30...with a k&n gold performance filter...is this oil okay to use (i wil definatley use it one more oil change because i bought the whole case) or should i use something else ... i have a 5.4 3v 2006 f250 super cab 4x4 long bed and i dont tow anything i only deliver counter tops
IMHO...I would NOT use the 5w30. I like to stick with what FORD recommends regarding the viscosity. That should be 5w20...especially in such a new motor. Again...just my .02

I have ran Havoline in my Ford gas trucks for years with good service out of it. The first 5 gas trucks I had were all ran on Havoline and all 5 had in excess of 160,000 miles on them with 0 engine problems.
That said, my Expedition is using Kendall. The reason was Havoline didn't have a 5W20 when I first bought it and Kendall did. So far, no problem.
I don't see the need for paying 4 times the cost for Mobile 1. No doubt Mobile 1 is good oil, but I just never saw the need.
well i use whatever is indicated on the cap under the hood...im not sure if its 5w-30 or 5w-20 i cant remember and i dont feel like going out side this is the 1st time ive changed my oil because this is my first new vehicle and im only 21 and i usually took it to a quick lube and let them do it...i just dont feel comfortable letting someone else work on my NEW truck...
