My dad wanted to try out my predator on his 2002 Powerstroke. So I restored backup to my truck. Then went to install a tune on his truck. I let him punch the buttons and select the tune, 60hp with hardshift. Worked great and he loved it.
After trying to restore the backup to his truck something went bad wrong.
His truck starts. But the glowplug light stays on, a check enginelight is on, and the tach isnt working.
I replaced the CPS and nothing happened.
I am now back in Houston and he is still stuck in the Austin area.
My only suggestion for him is a reflash from a dealer.
He pulled codes indicating a
Glowplug circuit error, and cam mod error.
Is it ok for him to drive?
Has anyone everheard of this?

Sounds like your backup program also went to his pcm. what you have indicated usualy happens when different pcm codes are crossed. Is there a program to restore back to stock or is that what the backup is supposed to be? Can't he put the tune back in and drive home? I wouldn't drive it without knowing if the glow plugs are actualy on or not.
Sounds like a bad case of coincidence regarding the glow plug circuit error and the timing of the predator tune. I've never heard of one causing any problem like that.
The KAM error is something that will almost always happen when you reflash a truck with a tuner. It's perfectly normal.
