When I start up my Explorer my headlights flash on/off maybe half a dozen times? Is my truck trying to tell me something? It's happened a couple times in the last few days.

Now would you like this moved to the Explorer forum or the Electrical Systems/Wiring forum?
If the Exploder is new enough to have a factory security (PATS) system, best go on over to the electrical board where the REAL experts hang out. Be sure to count the number of flashes because with most other systems it's the fault code.
AL.
He is talking about the HEADLIGHTS flashing. I would guess Daytime Running Light module or something with that. Possibly ground. Does it only do it when first started? Maybe get someone to drive in front of you and watch your lights when driving down the road.
I figured it was a basic enough question so I just put it in the Ontario section. I've only noticed it on initial start up but I'm also in the garage so I can see the headlights flashing against the wall. I wouldn't know about any other time.
1999 Explorer correct? Do they go completely out or just get dim and then bright? Do you notice the dash lights doing the same thing? Do you notice the heater blower going up and down in speed or anything else affected?

I am wondering if it's the charging system.
Yes it's a '99 Sport with the 4.0 OHV. From what I can tell they go out completely. I haven't noticed if any of the lights on the dash flicker. While I'm driving everything seems to be functioning normally.
